Summary
As part of understanding the role that a CSA plays, this chapter has been important in learning which technical areas should be learned when selecting a CSA domain to pursue. While there are multiple areas of expertise for a CSA to specialize in, there are some universal truths that apply to all disciplines across education, certifications, and design patterns that will apply to the CSA role. In other cases, specific certifications can be applied to each role, and design patterns exist to help create reliable, secure, and scalable solutions, regardless of whether the CSA specializes in infrastructure, applications, data, AI/ML, or security.
Moving forward, in Chapter 3, Education Paths to the Cloud Solution Architect Role, we will be exploring areas you should consider when pursuing a CSA role, including who in your professional network might be able to provide guidance in securing a CSA role, and what might be expected of you from a job responsibilities perspective.
