The Q replication layer


The basic things we need to monitor are whether Q Capture and Q Apply started correctly and are active, how far Q Capture is behind the DB2 log, and how far Q Apply is behind Q Capture.

Monitoring Q Capture start up

To indicate that Q Capture has started successfully, we are looking for two messages in the Q Capture log:

  • ASN0572I: This indicates that Q Capture has started successfully.

  • ASN7010I: This indicates that the Q subscription has been successfully activated.
