Manual monitoring
We can of course monitor manually what we mean by this, is that, we can write programs and scripts to mimic the function of the Replication Alert Monitor, but why would we want to do this?
To check if Q Capture is running for our Q Capture with a control table schema of
ASN
running on thedb2a
server, we would issue:$ asnqccmd CAPTURE_SERVER=db2a STATUS SHOW DETAILS
To check if Q Apply is running with a control table schema of
ASN
running on thedb2b
server, we would issue:$ asnqacmd APPLY_SERVER=db2b STATUS SHOW DETAILS
To check the depth of a Receive Queue on Queue Manager
QMB
we would issue:$ runmqsc QMB :dis ql(CAPA.TO.APPB.RECVQ) CURDEPTH
