Chapter 4. Customizing the Look

So far we dealt with the logic behind search results: how to get them, how to show only certain results, how to boost results, and so on. We have, however, relied on the core presentation of SharePoint to display the results. In this chapter we are going to focus on how to change the presentation of results. SharePoint 2013 introduced new concepts called result types and display templates, which, by using standard web technologies, help us achieve the look we are after.
