In this chapter, we’ve looked in depth at web typography, considering the pros and cons of both system and web fonts, when each is most applicable, and the various properties and values we can apply to get the most from each.
We’ve also covered variable fonts and understood the potential and considerations for employing them in projects.
As you are now aware, there are fine details involved in wielding typography on the web to the best effect.
In the next chapter, we are going on another deep dive of a tenet of design on the web, and that’s color. And just like web typography, I’ll be surprised if there aren’t more than a few things you didn’t already know. That was certainly the case for me when I was writing it!
