Exploring mesh nodes
Let’s start by explaining the nodes you’ll need the most – the nodes to manipulate mesh. These are used to modify the mesh you are working with. In this section, we will go over the most basic ones you might have to use with any Geometry Nodes project.
The Subdivision Surface node
We are all familiar with the Subdivision Surface modifier. In the Geometry Node editor, there’s a node for that.
To easily explain this node, we will be comparing it to the modifier. Under the Subdivision Surface node, the input node called Mesh refers to the mesh you give the node to process. The Level integer value refers to the iterations of subdivision, just as the modifier offers. The next values you’ll see on the node aren’t values we see on the modifier. These are Creasing Values.
