Because of the high cost of the equipment, it has become difficult for people from the automation sector to get access to the automation equipment for working on small applications. This is where Arduino and this video course come into the picture. This course takes you through the Arduino development board and shows you step-by-step how to create simple, yet powerful Modbus master or slave devices using C programming.
The course introduces you to a list of hardware devices and software that you will use in this course. Next, you will use the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) to create and test your first Arduino Modbus master application. You will also learn how to modify the code to display the value of a variable on the LCD and how to use Modsim32 as a Modbus slave to run the application. Moving along, you will add code to read a holding register, input status, and coil. Next, you will learn the techniques required to configure Arduino to read and display data from a Modbus temperature sensor and write Modbus data to the slave. Finally, you will work with the Modbus slave Arduino library to implement the Arduino Modbus slave and test the read and write functionality.
By the end of this course, you will be well-versed with the Arduino Uno development system and will have developed skills to create robust Modbus RS485 and slave devices.
