What is custom duty/charge?

Customs duty are charges levied on goods when they cross international borders. It is a tax that is imposed on imported goods. These duties are charged by special authorities and bodies created by local governments and are meant to protect local industries, economies, and businesses.

Do I have to pay customs charges for the print book order?

The orders shipped to the countries that are listed under EU27 will not bear custom charges. They are paid by Packt as part of the order.

A custom duty or localized taxes may be applicable on the shipment and would be charged by the recipient country outside of the EU27 which should be paid by the customer and these duties are not included in the shipping charges been charged on the order.

How do I know my custom duty charges?

The amount of duty payable varies greatly depending on the imported goods, the country of origin and several other factors like the total invoice amount or dimensions like weight, and other such criteria applicable in your country.

For example:

If you live in Mexico, and the declared value of your ordered items is over $ 50, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 19% which will be $ 9.50 to the courier service.
Whereas if you live in Turkey, and the declared value of your ordered items is over € 22, for you to receive a package, you will have to pay additional import tax of 18% which will be € 3.96 to the courier service.

How can I cancel my order?

Cancellation Policy for Published Printed Books:

You can cancel any order within 1 hour of placing the order. Simply contact customercare@packt.com with your order details or payment transaction id. If your order has already started the shipment process, we will do our best to stop it. However, if it is already on the way to you then when you receive it, you can contact us at customercare@packt.com using the returns and refund process.

What is your returns and refunds policy?

Return Policy:

We want you to be happy with your purchase from Packtpub.com. We will not hassle you with returning print books to us. Sadly, if your eBook or Video file is faulty or a fault occurs during the eBook or Video being made available to you, i.e. during download then you should contact Customer Relations Team within 14 days of purchase on customercare@packt.com who will be able to resolve this issue for you.
You will have a choice of replacement or refund of the problem items.(damaged, defective or incorrect)
Once Customer Care Team confirms that you will be refunded, you should receive the refund within 10 to 12 working days.

What tax is charged?

The authors provided a comprehensive guide to understanding the concept of Edge computing and its role in current service architecture. As the Edge computing concept spans from micro-devices and sensors to infrastructure deployed on-prem with limited resources in mind to connectivity with Hyper-scalers infra, the book goes in deep the provide the clarity on each concept.The authors are extremely knowledgeable and have a strong background in solution architecture (To be honest, I have worked with Ashok for some time) and this filled the gap in the industry between the concept and the real solution architectural view. The book goes into detail providing architectural views and covering different silos where the Edge computing definition deviates (like Telco, where the telcos world is defining the Edge ecosystem by itself). This book explains solutions architecture clearly and thoroughly, for all the practitioners impacted by Edge Computing evolution (Developers, networking, etc). It covers different areas of solutions architecture and gives you a variety of tools to solve problems in this field.This book is your guide to building a winning strategy for combining cloud computing with edge computing. It covers everything you need to know, from business goals to picking the right cloud options. This book is a timely addition to the world of enterprise network.Enterprise networks are becoming more diverse and distributed across hybrid and multi clouds. End-to-end automation and orchestration becomes important with considerations to zero trust, improved security functions, performance, scalability, network availability, service availability and cost considerations, This book gives a good overview of these broadest of topics in addition to useful tips on architecting and developing solutions for these type of environments.The book has a clear and consistent flow in describing various concepts and design considerations that are easy to comprehend. The book also provides Enterprises a good understanding of what to look for from vendors when evaluating automated solutions for enterprise network orchestration.The section of open source software development is a real plus and a topic not usually covered.Providing access to various images used in the book is a welcome addition.Each chapter of the book also contains useful references which provide additional information.On the topic of zero-trust, SASE recommend adding reference to standards specifications from Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF Forum). Authors could also consider keeping a reference to an active set of useful links that are constantly updated.
