The Judges will be choosing from the five Multimedia Software finalists that received the most nominations, during the nomination stage. They will be selecting their top three based on a number of factors including performance, improvement over last 12 months, usability, size and support from community, cross-platform/handset support, ease of configuration and customization. The Judging panel is made up from a list of experienced and respected figures in the open source and Multimedia Software industry :
Alan Lord is co-owner of The Open Learning Centre; a specialist consulting company that helps organisations choose, implement and use Open Source Software IT solutions.
Alan's IT career spans too many years to mention, but since school he has always been in technology, developing his skills with companies pioneering in datacoms, telecommunications and the Internet. Alan started experimenting with Linux & Open Source in the late 90s, building operating systems from scratch. His passion for Free Software has been growing ever since.
Kevin Haas is a business intelligence technology consultant based in Chicago, IL with over 20 years of experience in databases, predictive analytics and business intelligence. He is a partner at OpenBI, LLC (www.openbi.com), a firm dedicated to open-source business intelligence, analytics and big data solutions. Kevin is a regular speaker at technology conferences and has written articles for publications including Information Management and Linux Magazine. He holds a Masters Degree from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Florida. Kevin can be reached at email@example.com.
Anne-Mieke is a professional designer and runs an agency in The Netherlands (Amsterdam area) focused on multi-media & marketing services. She's a strong supporter of Open Source software. In her spare time she composes music and paints.. She can’t avoid the genes she got as the daughter of an Oscar winning animator / jazz musician and a sculptor/painter, both originating from generations of artists and musicians. Nobody can tell where the stray commercial genes came from though.
