About the author:
David Gouveia is a software engineer and game developer native to Madeira, Portugal. He completed his MSc. in Computer Science, with a specialization in graphics and multimedia, and presently is working full-time as a game programmer for a local company. David is fond of game development, in particular graphics and audio programming. He is also very keen on music and synthesizers, and has played the keyboard for years.

Getting Started with C++ Audio Programming for Game Development begins with an description about basic audio concepts, after which it moves on to explain the usage of the FMOD Ex library, implementation of 3D audio simulation, usage of the FMOD Designer toolkit, and working with multi-layered sounds with complex behaviors attached to them. The concluding section of the book briefs the reader about working with audio at a much lower level by manipulating audio data directly.

Designing complex generative and interactive sounds is easy using Getting Started with C++ Audio Programming for Game Development. This book will help gamers to simulate an environment with 3D audio and effects. Users will be able to control audio playback and multiple sound parameters in several formats.
