In the summer of 1972, Rick Golden sat in the computer lab at SUNY Fredonia and completed his first CAI tutorial for programming in APL. At that time he was nine years old.
After forty years as a programmer, Rick still enjoys programming. He now spends most of his time guiding and coaching the next generation of programmers—awakening others to the same joy and passion for computing that he has had for more than forty years.
Rick currently works full time innovating new solutions for big data in healthcare and part-time teaching a Raspberry Pi after-school program. All the time he enjoys programming, especially on the Raspberry Pi!
