Perry Lea is a 27-year veteran in the technology industry. He spent his first 20 years at Hewlett Packard in the Imaging and Printing Group, where he was a Distinguished Technologist and Chief Architect. He then served as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and Strategic Director at Micron Technologies. There he led a team working on advanced computing devices in the area of non-Von-Neumann computer architecture and processing in memory. He is currently Technical Director at Cradlepoint where he leads efforts in the advancement and research in IoT and fog/edge compute. He also works as an industry consultant, government advisor, and Distinguished Speaker of the Association of Computing Machinery.

He has worked on novel problems in the areas of high performance computing, computer vision, edge level deep learning systems, wireless communication systems, imaging systems, deeply embedded systems, operating systems, hardware architectures, advanced computing design, and memory technologies.

Perry holds three engineering degrees: BSCS, MSCE, and the Degree of Engineer EE from Columbia University. He is a senior member of the IEEE and a senior member of the ACM. He is author of six patents and has over 30 patents pending. He has authored several publications in the areas of imaging, computer architecture, and systems design and lectures academically.
