How Pre-Orders Work
We usually put new titles up for sale from two months before publication. During this period, you can pre-order a title and receive a special 10% discount on print and 20% discount on the eBook. Also, if the book is a RAW book, you can get 10% discount on print and 40% discount on the eBook. To know more about RAW books, click here.
Charging your credit card for pre-orders
When you place your pre-order, we ask for your credit card details. As with all payments to Packt Publishing, these details are entered into the secure servers of our payment provider Worldpay. They are not at any time held on our local servers. Worldpay record this transaction, but do not complete it. Nor do they reserve any pre-authorized funds on your account. They set up what they call a limited FuturePay agreement which is your agreement for us to process a one off payment for the agreed amount at the future date when the book ships. When the book you have pre-ordered is available for shipment, we notify them, and they process your credit card for the agreed amount. For eBook pre-orders, link to download the eBook will be available when the book is published and the payment is received. We then send you a receipt as for a regular order. You will also receive an email directly from Worldpay.
You can cancel any pre-orders up to 48 hours before the title is released. Go into Your Account and cancel the order using the links provided
If your order has already started the shipment process, we will do our best to stop it. However if it is already on the way to you then when you receive it, you can return it to us using the Returns process

Returning a Purchase
We want you to be happy with our books. If the book you have received from us is not what you want, doesn't work, or is in any other way defective, then please return to us within 30 days of receiving it and we will refund you the price you paid for the book. Note that we can only take returns of books bought directly from us on Packtpub.com. If you bought a book from elsewhere, you need to return to that original seller.
By signing in here, you'll enter our returns centre, where we'll give you a returns authorisation code, and instructions on where and how to return your parcel. In the US, our returns facility is in LaVergne, TN, and in UK it is in Birmingham. You need to return the book to the place it shipped from. Once we received the parcel safely back and in good condition, we will process a refund.
For items that you return to us that are in defective, incorrect or damaged, we will refund you the price you paid for the book plus the actual shipping costs we charged you for the original shipment. If you are only returning one book from a multiple order, then we will refund you the appropriate single item shipping charge. Where the items were shipped under a free shipping offer, we will be not shipping costs to refund.
Items that you have decided you don't want but are not defective, incorrect or damaged we will only refund the value of the item and not any shipping costs you might have paid. In both cases we will not refund shipping and handling costs that you incur in shipping the book back to us.
You can expect to receive a refund from us for authorised and accepted returns 7 to 14 working days from receipt of the returned goods.
