Packt celebrates relaunch of website by offering free eBooks

March 2010 | Enterprise, Open Source, Web Development, Web Graphics & Video

Packt Publishing is giving away a free eBook to all of its account holders to celebrate the launch of its new revamped website. www.PacktPub.com, the company's online bookstore, relaunches on 26th March 2010 and offers a new, enhanced customer experience and other exciting new features.

The new website, built and developed with UK based Bluetel Solutions, retains many of the old website’s features including its books, technical articles as well as being the home of Packt’s popular Open Source CMS Awards.

New additions include improved design and layout, better search functionality, enhanced customer accounts and access to downloads. Customers can also look forward to a quicker process for buying books and checking out resulting in an all round improved customer experience.

The new website has been developed using the Open Source Content Management System Drupal and features links to Packt’s various social media platforms, the Packt Newsletter and RSS feed subscription.

The firm’s marketing manager Damian Carvill said “The marked improvements with usability and functionality will go a long way to improving our customer’s experience; something that’s a little overdue”.

To celebrate the launch of its new website, Packt is giving away a free eBook copy of RSS and Atom to every PacktPub.com account holder. The RSS and Atom book guides users through the use of strategy, structure and selection with in depth technical coverage of feed formats and XML vocabularies.

The new PacktPub.com launches on Friday 26th March 2010. To access your free Packt eBook, please visit www.PacktPub.com and sign in to your account or create a new one.
