Packt announce MOBI formatted ebooks to be made available from August.

June 2011 | Enterprise, Open Source

Packt Publishing is pleased to announce the release of their complete catalogue of books across all the main electronic formats for its customers. Having been an early mover in the sale of PDF ebooks, and leading the way with removing DRM at customer’s request, from August 2011, all ebook customers will be able to download their titles in the Kindle-enabled MOBI format.

Existing customers who have purchased any eBook from Packt will have the Kindle-enabled format added to their account for free.

Packt continues to expand its range of electronic offers, putting the choice of how and where to read their books even more into the control of its customers.

"Making our full title range available in more formats is an important step for Packt," says Douglas Paterson, Open Source Publisher at Packt. "Devices such as the Kindle are shaping the future of publishing and the consumption of information, and it’s important for our customers to have the format options to suit their needs.”

Packt MOBI formatted ebooks are available from August. To access your first Packt MOBI ebook, either previously purchased or one of Packt’s free ebooks, simply log into the Packt website and go to ‘My Account’.
