About the Authors:
Javier Pascau has a PhD from Madrid Polytechnic University and is a visiting professor at Carlos III University in Madrid. He has previously been part of the Bio-medical Imaging and Instrumentation Group, a research laboratory with a multidisciplinary team at Carlos III University, and the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón. Over the last 13 years, he has authored more than 30 papers and has had work published in peer-reviewed journals.
José María Mateos Pérez is a Spanish researcher and PhD student at the Medical Imaging Laboratory of the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón in Madrid. He is also an experienced ImageJ user, and one of the many plugins he has developed, jClustering, has been published in PLOS ONE, a peer-reviewed journal.
ImageJ is a public domain, Java-based image processing program developed at the National Institute of Health. Its plugin architecture and built-in development environment has made it a popular platform for teaching image processing.
