About the author:
Shea Silverman has been a computer enthusiast since childhood and is very passionate about technology, video games, education, and the public sector. He is a member of Orlando hackerspace FamiLAB and studied at the University of Central Florida, along with pursuing a Master's degree in non-profit management. He has written an article entitled Hacking, Learning, and the Raspberry Pi which was published in 2600: The Hacker Quarterly. Shea was also a technical reviewer for Raspberry Pi Networking Cookbook, also published by Packt Publishing.

Raspberry Pi is a credit-card-sized, single-board computer developed in the UK by the Raspberry Pi Foundation with the intention to promote the teaching of basic computer science in schools. Raspberry Pi is manufactured through licensed manufacturing deals with element14 (Premier Farnell), RS Components, and Egoman. All of these companies sell Raspberry Pi online.

Instant Raspberry Pi Gaming will teach the reader how to install an operating system on Raspberry Pi, set up PiMAME, install Retropie, and also emulate PlayStation, SuperNES, MAME, and Atari 2600 games. Practical, step-by-step instructions will show readers how to create their own Minecraft world and play multiplayer Open Arena matches with their friends. Clear instructions on keeping Raspberry Pi updated and fixing common issues are also part of the curriculum.

Instant Raspberry Pi Gaming will be hugely beneficial for anyone who doesn’t mind using the command line from time to time, who can format an SD card on their computer, and who loves to play video games on all devices. Basically, this book is for anyone who loves classic arcades, platformers, first-person shooters, and emulating game consoles.
