About the Author:

Piero Giacomelli graduated in mathematics and entered the professional software industry in 1997 when he started using Java. He has been involved in lots of software projects using Java, .NET, and PHP. He is a great fan of JBoss and Apache technologies but also uses Microsoft technologies. HornetQ is an open source asynchronous messaging project from JBoss. It is an example of Message Oriented Middleware. HornetQ is an open source project to build a multi-protocol, embeddable, very high performance, clustered, asynchronous messaging system.

Written in a cookbook style users will learn the most common applications of a message exchanger with example code, as part of real-world scenarios. The book begins with a clean installation of a HornetQ sever and progresses with the most advanced features using the framework embedded in the software and sharing information in a cluster environment.

Using a real-world advanced medical scenario as the main example the book teaches users the advanced features of HornetQ. It will help readers to check the message status and control the whole process of queuing messages. They will learn to secure and group different servers to form a High Performance Message Cluster and deliver messages over a WAN to configure backup servers anywhere.
