TIBCO Spotfire is an analytics and Business Intelligence platform for the analysis of data by predictive and complex statistics. This software was used in FIFA World Cup, 2010, to give viewers analytics on different teams' past performances. It’s the latest generation of an analytics dashboard, enabling the representation of relevant data in an intuitive fashion, fostering both rich visualizations and shortened analysis.

TIBCO Spotfire for Developers helps readers gain practical experience with the very powerful analytics tool. It introduces readers to the platform and its architecture, shows them how to install a standalone working environment. Readers will get to grips with the required functionalities and concepts, and start working with the Spotfire technology. The book also teaches users about data loading and visualization creation, using several graph types, and also goes through the features of filtering, data preparation, transformation, and layout definition. Eventually, readers will excel in library creation and deployment, as well as web player usage. Readers should, ideally, be familiar with the basics of Business Intelligence, but no prior knowledge of TIBCO Spotfire is required.
