Packt Publishing, the emerging leaders in game development book titles is pleased to announce a cover image competition for their forthcoming book: Corona Game Development: Beginners Guide by Michelle M. Fernandez. Members of the Corona community are invited to submit their original artwork to adorn the cover of this exciting book.
Prizes:
1st Prize: The winner has their image used on the front cover of the forthcoming book Corona Game Development: Beginners Guide by Michelle M. Fernandez. The winner’s name and email address will feature inside the front cover and they receive 2 copies of the book. Our standard $100 is paid for use of the image. The winner will also receive a year long subscription of Corona SDK PRO courtesy of Ansca Mobile!
2 Runners up receive a Packt Games Library 1 Year subscription worth $120 (see http://packtlib.packtpub.com/gaming-library/subscription for details).

Judging criteria
Ideally a cover image will tell the reader something about the book, jump out at them, be visually appealing, and evoke feelings of excitement or curiosity about the content of the book. With this in mind, entries will be judged on the following criteria:
- Artistic merit and composition
- Evokes or describes the feeling of working with Corona SDK
- Game references
- Visual impact

Deadline for submissions: 28th of January, 2012
The technical requirements for all submitted images are as follows
- Resolution: 300 dpi
- Size: Minimum 7" by 5"
- Mode: CMYK (Preferred)
- Format: JPEG
- The entire image and each element contained in it should be your own work
Send a JPEG file no larger than 2MB. If you are selected as a winner or runner up you will be asked to send an uncompressed TIFF, BMP or PSD file. Please use your common sense when deciding on subject matter – nothing that would offend or disgust, please.
The email address for entries is photography@packtpub.com. Please include the word “Corona” in the message header. You may submit up to three entries.
