About the Author:
Damien Bruyndonckx is trained as an elementary school teacher and he began his career teaching French as a foreign language in two elementary public schools of Louisiana, USA. In 2001, he came back to his home country, Belgium, and began to work as an IT trainer. He soon acquired the title of Adobe Certified Instructor on Dreamweaver, Coldfusion, Acrobat, and Captivate, he became an Adobe Education Leader in November 2011. Damien also has his own company that provides Adobe Training and e-Learning consultancy. Damien is the author of Mastering Adobe Captivate 6 published in August 2012 and of Adobe Captivate 7 for Mobile learning published in August 2013, both published by Packt Publishing.

Mastering Adobe Captivate 7 is an electronic learning tool for Microsoft Windows, It helps the reader rapidly author a wide range of interactive and HTML5-based e-Learning content with minimum programming. With Adobe Captivate 7, readers can capture the on-screen action and also enhance their e-Learning projects by including animations, videos, Smart Shapes, buttons, and drag-and-drop interactions.

This book will guide the readers through the creation of four e-Learning projects including a demonstration, an interactive simulation, a YouTube-like screencast, and a SCORM compliant quiz. The first part of the book will drive the readers through the three main steps of the Captivate production process. In the first step, the readers will use the powerful capture engine of Captivate to generate the slides and screenshots required for the project. In the second step, readers will enhance their slides and screenshots using the objects provided by Captivate. These objects include animations, sophisticated interactions, videos, sound, and more. In the third step, the readers will make their projects available to the outside world by publishing them in various formats including Adobe Flash and HTML 5 so that the readers’ content can be played back on every desktop and mobile device. The second part of the book will focus on the advanced tools of Captivate. These tools include the questions slides that make up a quiz, SCORM, AICC, and Tin Can compliance, localization of the readers e-Learning content and widgets among others. In the last chapter, the readers will unleash the true power of Captivate by using the variables and the advanced actions to create a unique e-Learning experience.
