With the voting for the 2010 Open Source Awards beginning, Packt is pleased to announce the judges that will be on the judging panel this year.
In each category there will be a panel of four judges that will vote for the top three projects. A final vote will come from the results of a public vote on www.PacktPub.com
The judges will be choosing from the finalists that received the most nominations during the nomination stage. They will be basing their choices on a number of factors as part of the judging criteria for each category.

I am pleased to announce the finalists in the 2010 Open Source Awards. The nominations started on 9th August and since then we've received just fewer than 8000 nominations from the open source community supporting their favorite open source projects. The voting stage begins Monday 27th September and ends Friday 5th November.

This month Packt Open Source published the Implementing SugarCRM 5.x book.
The book is a complete guide to implementing SugarCRM including topics such as needs assessment, installing and using the software, training users, integrating with existing systems, and more covered.
Packt is re-launching its annual Award as the Open Source Awards this year and while reading this may catch some off guard, those who are familiar with Packt’s values will recognize that this is a move that allows us to encourage, support, recognize and reward not only Content Management Systems but all Open Source projects, benefiting the Open Source community as a whole.
