AUTHORS WRITING FOR PACKT TESTIMONIALS PROFILES

Editorial Support
We have an author-centric editorial process to help you get the most from writing.

The first stage is to develop a book idea to the point where we have a strong concept and a book outline. Authors and Development Editors usually work together during this phase. We want to make sure that the book has an audience, and that we are going to develop a book that makes this audience happy.

DEs help develop your idea, check market potential, and give you advice on how to write well and on delivering excellent results without giving up all of your free time - especially on overcoming writer's block, which frequently comes upon first time authors - while the editors ensure the quality of your English and style remains strong.

Have a look at the editorial processes flowchart to have a clear idea.

After this, the book goes into production, where it is laid out, printed, and finally published.

Matt Butcher says...

Michael Whitehead says...
Now that I have had some time to look back on the whole experience of producing a book jointly with the Packt team of professional editors, I would say, their help got me to the finish line, and with a much better product than if I had tried to just write it all by myself.
