The nominations stage of the Open Source CMS Award is due to close at the end of this week, on August 31. So far over 15,000 people have made their nominations for the five categories with voting at the top closer than expected.
The finalists for each category along with the winners of the iPod Nano will be announced on Monday September 10, with voting beginning on the same day.
The CMS's that receive the most votes in their category will go through to the final round, which is voted for by a panel of judges made up from a list of experienced and respected figures in the open source and Content Management industries. The Judges will be choosing from the finalists that received the most nominations, during the nomination stage. They will be basing their choices on a number of factors including performance, usability, accessibility, ease of configuration and customization, scalability and security.
The final judge is made up of votes from customers and visitors to www.PacktPub.com, who have the chance to support their favourite CMS by submitting a vote when the final five are announced.
