Get Your Workflow Up and Running with New Book on OSWorkflow
Friday, August 31, 2007 | News | Open Source
Packt is pleased to announce a new book on OSWorkflow, a guide for Java developers and architects to integrating open source Business Process Management. Covering all aspects related to OSWorkflow, this book doesn’t assume any prior knowledge of OSWorkflow and will teach everything from the basics of Business Process Management (BPM) technology and installing OSWorkflow, to integrating the workflow engine with third-party components like Drools, Quartz, and Pentaho.

OSWorkflow is an open source workflow engine written entirely in Java with a flexible approach and a technical user-base target. It is released under the Apache License. Simple or complex workflows can be created, depending on a user’s needs. Work can be focused on the business logic and rules. No more Petri Net or finite state machine coding! OSWorkflow can be integrated into an application with a minimum amount of fuss. OSWorkflow provides all of the workflow constructs that developers and architects might encounter in real-life processes, such as steps, conditions, loops, splits, joins, roles, etc.

Written by Diego Naya Lazo, an active developer of the OSWorkflow project, OSWorkflow explains in detail all the various aspects of OSWorkflow, and uses real-life examples to clarify concepts. The basics are explained first and then examples are used to help clarify and reinforce the principles.

The book is aimed at experienced Java developers and system architects who want to develop complex Java applications using the OSWorkflow workflow engine. OSWorkflow is a flexible low-level workflow implementation for developers and architects; it is not a quick "plug-and-play" solution for non-technical end users.

OSWorkflow: A guide for Java developers and architects to integrating open-source Business Process Management is available to buy now, for more information, please visit www.PacktPub.com/OSWorkflow-Java-open-source-Business-Process-Management/book
