CFDevCon: A Conference by Developers, for Developers
Tuesday, July 8, 2008 | News | Web DevelopmentRunning between September 25-26, CFDevCon is a conference for anyone who is looking to enhance their web technology skills. Taking place in Brighton, on England's South coast, CFDevCon includes streams relating to many emerging web technologies and even one on JQuery by author of Packt's ColdFusion 8 Developer Tutorial, John Farrar. The first ever CFDevCon was in November 2006 and was started by Russ Michaels. His original goal was to bring to the UK what the Americans had been enjoying for years through cfunited, cf:objective and other ColdFusion related conferences. Like many developers Russ either did not have the time or the money to make the trip to the USA for these conferences, so decided to make his own. Thanks to the membership of his existing community CFFrameworks and CFCommunity fame and Richard Cooper of Property Owl. CFDevCon 2008 is for anyone who is looking to enhance their web technology skills. Although this is a ColdFusion centric web conference it will be covering everything from Building Dynamic Web Applications with Microsoft Silverlight, What's New for Developers in SQL Server 2008, to Search Engine Optimisation and making your site indexable and searchable.
