PHP and script.aculo.us Web 2.0 Application Interfaces is a new book from Packt that is aimed at helping developers enhance their web applications and build their projects with script.aculo.us and PHP. Written by Sridhar Rao, this book explores the prototype library features, tutorials, and codes with the help of real-world case studies.
Script.aculo.us is a JavaScript library that provides dynamic visual effects, user interface controls, and robust AJAX features. It is most notably included with Seaside and Ruby on Rails, but is also provided separately to work with other web application frameworks and scripting languages.
This book explores all aspects of writing applications, right from simple effects to the AJAX way of communicating through systems in applications. The reader will explore and implement the striking features of script.aculo.us such as Sliders, Auto-Completion, and Multimedia etc, and will be shown a new way of adding interactivity to their web applications by adding multimedia effects such as morph, highlight, fade, and MP3 sounds.
