Best Open Source Social Networking CMS Judges
The Judges will be choosing from the five Content Management Systems that received the most nominations, during the nomination stage. They will be selecting their top three based on a number of factors including performance, usability, accessibility, ease of configuration and customization, scalability and security. The Judging panel is made up from a list of experienced and respected figures in the open source and Content Management industry:Deane Barker, Gadgetopia.com Deane Barker has been blogging at Gadgetopia for
the last five years while running his Web development company, Blend
Interactive. During that time, he's racked up almost 6,000 posts on a
series of subjects that he tries (and fails) to keep centered around Web
development. Deane's passions are content management, intranet development, and
the intersection between technology and ecology.
Linda Roeder, SocialNetworking-Weblog.com Linda
Roeder began writing on the Internet in 1998 when she became a guide for About.com. She still writes for About.com doing the Personal
Web Pages topic. This site teaches people how to get started creating
their own personal Web pages.
Over the years she has written for many other online sites including Suite101
and Associated Content. She was even an editor for Suite101
on a 6 month assignment.
On top of writing for About.com and Suite101
she's currently writing the Social
Networking Weblog. This weblog discusses many of the issues people
deal with while social networking and presents some of the newest social
networking sites.
Chris Smart, MakeTheMove.net
Chris Smart is an advocate of free and open source
software. He was the founder of the Kororaa Linux distribution which (through
their live CD) brought 3D desktop effects such as Xgl to the masses. He also
founded the 'Make The Move' project which presents free and open source
software as a viable option for users and encourages them to make the move to
free software. On a larger scale he is passionate about the benefits of free
