International SOA & Cloud Symposium 2009

2009 SOA Symposium

In the last few years, Packt has published a dozen SOA focussed books, including the Oracle SOA Suite Developer's Guide, SOA Patterns with BizTalk Server 2009, and Business Process Driven SOA using BPMN and BPEL. Next month, we plan to publish Getting Started With Oracle SOA Suite 11g R1 – A Hands-On Tutorial.

As part of our commitment to SOA, Packt will be attending this year’s 2nd International SOA Symposium in Rotterdam. In addition, we are delighted to announce that we will be a media partner at the event, and shall bring copies of all our SOA books. We shall also have an Acquisition team available to discuss any book ideas delegates may have.

So, we hope to see you there! Click to read more information about the 2009 SOA and Cloud Symposium.

International SOA & Cloud Symposium 2009
22 & 23 October 2009, Rotterdam

On October 22nd and 23rd, The Netherlands will host the 2nd International SOA Symposium in Rotterdam; the largest and most comprehensive SOA event for practitioners, providing a combination of expert speakers from around the world together with on-site SOA training and certification workshops. New this year is the co-located International Cloud Symposium, the first in Europe featuring 20 worldwide experts in 2 separate tracks.

For many SOA practitioners it is the SOA happening of the year. A unique opportunity to bring SOA and Cloud Computing to the next level together with worlds leading experts and peers.

The theme of the main event is "Next Generation SOA" and the theme of the co-located Cloud Symposium is “The Future of Cloud Computing”. The independent program committee is dedicated to ensuring that each session provides in-depth coverage and true educational value for the most important SOA or Cloud Computing-related topics. The agenda (which includes internationally recognized speakers such as Thomas Erl, Grady Booch, Sandy Carter, David Chappell, Anne Thomas Manes, Ali Arsanjani, Paul Brown, Mark Little, Clemens Utschig, Brian Loesgen and Joe McKendrick) is comprised of more than 80 speaker sessions over 16 separate tracks.

The agenda of this year’s SOA and Cloud Symposium also contains eight distinct panels, all of which are scheduled at the end of a conference day so that discussions can carry on beyond the allocated time without interfering with other scheduled events. Panels are intended to provoke discussion and debate regarding various issues and to provide conference attendees an open forum whereby they can directly ask speakers questions or request commentary.

And if it is not enough, the SOA and Cloud Symposium will have the privilege of hosting the book launch ceremonies of two upcoming titles: Next Generation SOA: A Real-World Guide to Modern Service-Oriented Computing and Modern ESB Architecture for SOA. Each ceremony is scheduled for the end of a conference day and will be attended by the respective authors who will be available to sign books and answer questions throughout the event.
