There are only two weeks left to register your nomination for the 2009 Open Source CMS Award. When voting closes on September 11, all the nominations will be added up, with the top five going through to the final round of voting.
This year, we’ve increased the total prize fund to $24,000 and added a new category called Hall of Fame, which is reserved for the previous winners of the Award. The previous winners of the Award therefore no longer feature in the Overall Award category as they now compete in a separate category of their own.
For Hall of Fame, we’ve included subcategory Awards named after each of the Hall of Fame participants. For these Awards, representatives from each Hall of Fame CMS project will present us with their nominations for five themes and extensions. These finalists will be opened to public votes in September. The themes and extensions that get the most votes will be declared as the best themes and extensions for their respective projects.
We believe that this will open up the Overall Award to more CMSes and at the same time, recognize the support network behind previous winners of the Award.
If you haven’t nominated your favorite CMS yet, please do so now; each vote counts! Moreover, as soon as you submit your nomination, you automatically enter a draw to win an 8GB iPod Nano.
