The first stage of the 2009 Open Source CMS Award draws to a close on September 11th, giving just one week left to put forward your nomination for a CMS to enter the final round of voting. So far over 10,000 people have made their nominations over the five categories.
The 2009 Award continues to support a range of open source Content Management Systems with five main categories offering prize money of $4,000 for the winners of the Overall Award and the Hall of Fame and $2,000 for the winners of the remaining categories. The finalists for each category will be announced on Monday September 21, with voting beginning on the same day.
The CMSes that receive the most votes in their category will go through to the final round, which is voted for by a panel of judges made up from a list of experienced and respected figures in the open source and Content Management industries. The Judges will be choosing from the finalists that received the most nominations, during the nomination stage. They will be basing their choices on a number of factors including performance, usability, accessibility, ease of configuration and customization, scalability, security and community contribution.
The final judge is made up of votes from customers and visitors to www.PacktPub.com, who have the chance to support their favourite CMS by submitting a vote when the final five are announced.
