Announcing Packt Video Beta

Announcing Packt Video Beta – bringing you knowledge in motion

Packt Video offers a structured way to learn specialist IT and development skills. We will cover the same sort of specialist, niche, and emerging topics that we’ve focused on with books, but in the form of screencast video.

Packt was founded to publish high quality technical books on topics that would otherwise have been too specific and focused to attract the attention of established technical publishers.

At the time books were the most popular way for developers and IT professionals to learn new skills in a structured way. Since then online video tutorials have emerged as a powerful alternative preferred by many customers.

What the Beta means for you

Packt Video is in beta. This means that we are pricing low and experimenting to learn what our customers would like to see in video screencasts from us. We are still learning how to develop and deliver the best video course experience, so we would appreciate your feedback on the video courses you've bought from us.

Even during the beta every course we publish is a complete course, commissioned from an expert author and managed through our editorial processes.

Each course features:

1.       A friendly, structured, and concise approach to learning a new computing skill.

2.       Clear hands on instructions and onscreen demonstrations for doing important tasks within the tool or topic.

3.       Short sections and subsections make it easy to jump to the exact material you want or work through it all in order.

4.       Text summaries of each section and subsection so that you don’t need to sit through bits that tell you how to do things you already know, and so you can easily find the right bits to watch.

Packt videos are streamed directly to you online, and have been tested on a wide variety of devices.

We also provide a downloadable ZIP file of all the video content that you can keep on your own computer, or transfer to your preferred device. The videos are in MP4 format.
